Panentheism (God is in Nature)

56

In this talk, I explore the idea of panentheism—the view that the divine is both in nature and beyond it, that we live within God, and God within us. It’s a perspective that opens up when we move beyond the mechanistic view of the world as lifeless and unconscious, with God as an optional extra, outside nature.

I trace some of the historical shifts that led us to forget nature’s aliveness, from early Christian mystics to the scientific revolution. Along the way, I reflect on new developments—like panpsychism, psychedelics, and renewed interest in spiritual practice—that are helping many people rediscover the sacred in the natural world.

This is an invitation to see and experience the cosmos differently—to consider that we are part of a living, evolving universe filled with mind and meaning.
