Can you telepathically summon your cat?
Appeal for information
Over the years I have received many reports from cat owners who claim to be able to telepathically summon their cat. Typically, the cat is in another room or outside, and the owner simply thinks about or mentally calls to their cat, who then comes to them without any obvious sensory cue.
This appears to be one of the most commonly reported forms of telepathy between cats and their owners, and is also one of the easiest to investigate experimentally. My earlier research on dogs who know when their owners are coming home provided evidence consistent with telepathy in dogs, and we are extending this line of research to cats.
We have therefore developed a new experiment to investigate whether cats respond to telepathic calls made at randomly selected times. If this is a phenomenon you have noticed with your cat, we would love to hear from you.
It is also possible that this behaviour could be strengthened through practice and positive reinforcement. We are therefore interested not only in hearing from people who have already experienced this phenomenon, but also from those who would be willing to explore whether their cat can learn to respond more reliably to telepathic calls over time.
If you would like to take part with your cat(s), please email my research assistant, Georgia, at georgiablack.research@gmail.com.
Most of my time is dedicated to scientific research, regularly published in peer-reviewed journals, and free to read on sheldrake.org. Since exploratory research of this kind rarely attracts traditional funding, your support makes all the difference, bringing more essays and videos to you and the public. Thank you!

Reading this to my wife, she said, "well, he has a point, but it is not our ability to summon the cat - it is entirely the other way around. Charlotte merely summons you....you put a book down, go make her food and take it back to the bedroom where she's resting. Most of the time you are not even aware of what has just happened."
I can. But of course, he doesn't come
